Tara O’Con
Underneath Where We Are

DATE/TIME/TICKETS

December 15-18, 2010

$20.00

Tara O’Con presents the body as a collage of tactile experiences both magnified and hidden from view. A web of fingers; an entanglement of arms; a severed neck; a displaced torso; a topography of feet. These fragments of the body animate themselves as both points of manipulation and obstacles to negotiate. Similarly, recesses, corners, and precipices throughout the building are brought to the forefront of the viewers’ attention.

Created and performed by Tara O’Con in collaboration with Jodi Bender and Meg Madorin. Appearance by Carly Pansulla. Sound design by Jason Sebastian. Costumes by Mary McKenzie. Lighting design by Chloe Z. Brown.

This work was created, in part, with a space grant from BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange with support from the Dance and Theater Programs of the New York State Council on the Arts and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
