YOU slowly composes itself from an ensemble movement practice that mediates human connection and togetherness for everyone in the room. In a forward-moving progression of strutting and skipping, the dancers lock-in-stride, and, together, overcome not knowing the audience. Their overture progresses to reveal personality, group practice, the nature of one-on-one conversations and cross-talk, while drawing upon private information, the ensemble instinct, counting, the systems in the room, and the presence of the audience. Recognition from viewers and dancers is the ultimate form of togetherness. It looks good on everyone and so back and forth it goes.
