Molly Lieber + Eleanor Smith
February 29 – March 3, 2012
In Beautiful Bone, Molly Lieber and Eleanor Smith move inside a mutually created experience of shame and love. Their performance depends on the closeness of their relationship. Beautiful Bone is a collaborative dance piece that uses the duet form as both catalyst and incubator for the work. A scarcity is cultivated that releases content in a naked state. The piece scrolls through a series of images, and uses the two bodies as representatives of imagination and feeling. Forgoing formality, the dancers casually meander between positions of power, gritty states of physicality, and short stories of loneliness and dependency.
Choreography and Performance by Molly Lieber and Eleanor Smith. Sound Design by James Lo. Lighting Design by Madeline Best. Costume Design & Construction by Shelley Smith.
