New works for a fully immersive 3 dimensional ambisonic audio environment – a Vortitorium – with performances by Joel Mellin (music) and Faurot / Paulson (performance). The audience will listen from the inside of a cube whose corners intersect the unit sphere where the sound is located. This environment allows for the encoding of audio in spherical coordinates, thus leveraging more physical height information than surround sound.
