Electric Midwife is a highly structured, formal and minimalist dance piece for six women designed to instigate a meditation around the elusive subject matters of perception and sensation. Gill and her dancers slowly developed Electric Midwife over a year-long process of garnering their skills into a rare dance, which celebrates the power of art in which concept and craft reinforce each other.

Electric Midwife received numerous Bessie Awards, was remounted at The Chocolate Factory in January 2012, and has toured to the Fusebox Festival (Austin, TX) and Dance Umbrella (London, UK).
