Event will take place at The Chocolate Factory Theater, 38-33 24th Street, Long Island City.

“Participant” ticket buyers will receive a personal dance dedication. “Witness” ticket buyers will be invited to watch the dedications as they happen.

Donna Uchizono, alongside artists Joanna Kotze, Antonio Ramos, and Jordan Lloyd, will offer a series of dance dedications exploring the body’s expansive capacity to listen. Grounded in the question “if you were to dedicate a dance to a person, who would that be?”, the dancers invite the audience to talk about someone they would like to dedicate a dance to in a mutually vulnerable exchange, anchored by the weight of trust and intimacy. Each dancer will then create a dedication informed by our ongoing research and development of the body as a reservoir of felt histories. Limited participants will sign up for an individual timeslot to receive their dedication. Tickets are also available for those who simply wish to witness the process. Each hour-long time slot will start with a 10-minute conversation about the dedicatee and end with a reflection on the dance.
