Performance will take place at The Chocolate Factory Theater, 38-33 24th Street, Long Island City.
something is lurking.
something is lingering.
something left and came back different.
this Halloween, AUNTS takes over the Chocolate Factory for the hAUNTing.
a haunted house.
a performance party.
a concert into the universe.
an altar.
a maze that may not stay where we left it.
there will be ghosts.
there will be guides.
there will be ushers, spirits, plant fairies, grandmothers.
there will be things you can see clearly
and things that refuse to come into focus.
you may be led somewhere.
you may lose the person you came in with.
you may find them again.
you may be asked to follow, witness, listen, dance, remember, disappear.
throughout the night, things appear and reappear.
rooms shift.
performances emerge.
something moves between the shadows.
the architecture changes its mind.
who is hAUNTing?
who is being hAUNTed?
and when does the role shift?
maybe hAUNTing is lingering.
memory refusing to leave.
existing exactly.
moving out of view.
making something from what was left behind.
leaving something for whoever comes next.
a quilt.
an altar.
a hiding place.
a way through.
somewhere between drama and grace.
exaltation and disappearance.
the spooky and the sacred.
what are the fears we can help each other face?
come dressed for the occasion.
come ready to move.
we’ll meet you inside.
